HAZARDOUS WASTE
Hazardous wastes must be managed
separately to other waste types
Any hazardous waste in Guernsey has to be dealt with differently to other wastes. In order to minimise the risk to the environment and the health and safety of the staff at our sites, everyone needs to follow the correct process. This process manages the waste from the time it is generated until it has been recovered or disposed of.
Common hazardous wastes are: Asbestos, Lead-acid and certain other batteries, Fluorescent tubes, older Electrical items, Solvents, Pesticides, Paints & coatings, Bitumen and certain aerosol containers.
If you need advice about managing hazardous waste please contact our team and we can talk you through the legal requirements.
